Nimbnet, a Swedish charge point operator, is committed to building a comprehensive charging network specifically designed for electric trucks. To achieve this ambitious goal, we’ve partnered with two industry leaders: Kempower and Virta.
Kempower’s Powerful DC Chargers
Kempower, a Finnish company, is renowned for its high-performance DC fast chargers. Their products are synonymous with speed, reliability, and durability, making them the perfect fit for the demanding needs of electric trucks. Kempower chargers also allow dynamic charging technology, which optimises charging efficiency by intelligently distributing power across multiple charging points.
Virta’s User-Friendly Platform
To complement our hardware, we’ve chosen Virta, another Finnish company specialising in EV charging platform solutions. Virta’s software empowers charge point operators by optimising network performance, managing charging sessions efficiently, and providing valuable data insights. This robust platform also enhances the driver experience with features like real-time availability, easy payments, and seamless roaming capabilities. They even have built-in management service for fleet management and reservations!
“Anticipating the growing demand for chargers, we proactively ordered Kempower chargers back in 2022. These reliable chargers are in storage and ready to power our stations.” – Torbjörn Nordling
Partnership that Drives Electrification
Our decision to partner with Kempower and Virta back in 2022 was driven by their exceptional reputations in the EV charging industry. Both companies are leaders in their respective fields, with a proven track record of delivering reliable and user-friendly experience. We were and still are confident that this collaboration will enable us to build a charging network that meets the evolving needs of the electric trucking sector.
“We are more than delighted to see that our end user-facing solutions to serve the heavy-duty markets’ needs of tomorrow are already to be put to real use by forerunners such as Nimbnet. Furthermore, also enabling our customers speed to market via our turnkey-ready plug and play deliveries built around their needs and desires.” said Martin Lundgren, Country Manager for Virta Sweden (2022).
As a first step in realising our vision, we deployed a pilot station with our partners at Gotland Ring and received great feedback, even from TopGear. In the soon future, we’re excited to announce that our upcoming charging stations in Nordmaling, Sundsvall, and Söderhamn Losjö will be equipped with Kempower chargers and Virta software. These locations were carefully selected by Nimbnet and funded by the Swedish Energy Agency.
We believe that this partnership combines the strengths of Nimbnet, Kempower, and Virta. We are confident in our ability to create a sustainable and efficient charging infrastructure for electric trucks in Sweden and beyond.
