On April 14th, Nimbnet’s Taiwan Team converged at the 2035 E-Mobility Taiwan tradeshow in Nangang. Project Supervisor Torbjörn Nordling, Executive Administrator Assistant Michelle Kao, and Marketing Director Elias Ek walked the halls learning about new developments in electric vehicles, charging equipment and related technologies. It was great to see the wide variety of products and services on offer. At Nimbnet, we believe that it will take innovation at every step of the value chain to electrify transportation everywhere. Of course, Nimbnet concentrates first and foremost on the heavy transportation and were therefore excited to see more charging equipment capable of fast charging up to 480 kW with longer, more flexible cables suitable for big rigs.

Among the giants like Delta and Advantech it was also fun to see some independent inventors showing off brand new types of electric motors and innovative three-wheelers. Another highlight was to see the electrification of Taiwan’s buses. Taiwan has always been a country big on public transportation and it’s amazing to see that there are hundreds of electric buses already in operation on the streets. The representative told us these buses complete short bursts of routes before stopping at the depot for a quick 15-minute charge before hitting the road again. This concept is similar to what Nimbnet has in mind for the heavy transport sector: charge more frequently but spend less time charging!
