Mercedes-Benz Trucks has recently begun its eActros sales tour, covering five European countries. The eActros trucks will travel roughly 3,700 kilometers over five weeks, charging at public stations and Daimler Truck branches.

The journey began at Mercedes-Benz Trucks’ most extensive manufacturing facility in Wörth on Tuesday. The three electric trucks will travel through Austria, Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium. Along the way, they will make several stops to showcase the vehicles and services to customers.

E-mobility experts will be present to discuss market-specific e-mobility issues and provide comprehensive consulting services to fleet operators.

The company offers eConsulting services that cover several aspects, such as analyzing electric trucks’ practical and effective usage based on existing routes. They also cover managing the implementation of charging infrastructure and network connections and providing planning advice for depot electrification.

Stina Fagerman, head of marketing, sales and services at Mercedes-Benz Trucks, said the eActros roadshow will actively reach out to customers and allow them to “experience the eActros firsthand.”

The roadshow also will offer in-depth consultations on the transition to e-mobility. Fagerman said the company eagerly anticipates this “CO2-neutral tour across Europe.”

eActros for distribution haulage

The eActros sales tour will feature two eActros 300 (4×2) and one eActros 400 (6×2) designed for heavy-duty distribution haulage. The eActros 300 has three battery packs, while the eActros 400 has four battery packs, each with an installed capacity of 112 kWh.

With four battery packs, the eActros 400 ranges up to 400 kilometers. The truck is powered by a drive unit that consists of a rigid electric axle with two integrated electric motors and a two-speed transmission.

The motors can produce a continuous output of 330 kW and a peak output of 400 kW. During braking, the eActros can recuperate energy and feed it back into the batteries — providing additional power to the truck.

The Mercedes-Benz Wörth plant started series production of the battery-electric eActros in 2021. The plant, the second largest employer in Rhineland-Palatinate, has around 10,000 employees.
